Maslinitza (Russian Pancake Day) is a holiday that is celebrated here in Ukraine. Everyone comes to the center to celebrate the Spring weather, eat blini (crepe-like pancakes) and dance before the big Lent begins. This year it also happened to be on St. Patrick’s Day. For the perfect mixing of cultures, my students and I made green blinchiki.
