The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye, the story of love is hello and goodbye…until we meet again

Over may holidays I directed one final camp  for my students. The theme was healthy lifestyles and the kids learned how to play American football, Ultimate frisbee and had lessons about anti-smoking, tolerance, stress management and healthy diet.

I’m sure going to miss this. I’m going to miss them.

Maslinitza (Russian Pancake Day) is a holiday that is celebrated here in Ukraine. Everyone comes to the center to celebrate the Spring weather, eat blini (crepe-like pancakes) and dance before the big Lent begins. This year it also happened to be on St. Patrick’s Day. For the perfect mixing of cultures, my students and I made green blinchiki.

Love it!

As a Peace Corps Volunteer, part of my job here is to help show my community how to organize projects and how things can be accomplished when people work together.

Here is my story.

With only one week left before this project comes to an end. PLEASE contribute or forward this video and message to everyone you know. It is a good cause, and a great way to show that you care about others around the world. Let’s give these students the opportunities they deserve :)

What is Peace Corps?

Peace Corps is stepping outside your comfort zone and thinking outside the box. It’s leaving behind your home, your friends and your family to meet some of the most sincere, incredible, and lifelong friends who in a way will become your family. It’s changing how people view America and teaching Americans that there is more to life than a 9-5. It’s  an attempt to find sense where there is none and to learn the answers to questions you never knew to ask.

It’s that something that sits in the back of your mind, waiting, growing, wondering, knowing.

What are you waiting for?

My beautiful students threw me a surprise birthday party.
